Arguments against American July 4th
[edit]Should there be a section over arguments against the holiday’s celebration in america? It does celebrate the beginning of bloody imperialism and genocide to say the absolute least, after all 2603:6011:2800:5BB:9156:FA3A:1CF9:D187 (talk) 08:27, 21 October 2024 (UTC)

- Oppose, Independance Day is the name of the U.S. federal holiday (since 1870) and the descriptive name of the event (delegates of the Second Continental Congress adopting and issuing the Declaration of Independence). 4th of July is a nickname for the day, and is important as well, but is not the primary per both page views and historical significance. 4th of July and Fourth of July (n-grams show 'Fourth of July' more of a common nickname than '4th of July') already redirect here, so readers searching for the terms will always find their search topic. Over the last 90 days this page has averaged over 1,300 daily views while '4th of July' has averaged 3 and 'Fourth of July' 31. Randy Kryn (talk) 11:57, 30 December 2024 (UTC)
